Friend of Edsen, Indirect spending accounts for a large portion of a company’s budget, and those that make a point of managing their spending in this area can see equally large savings.

According to a 2014 report from EY, optimizing indirect spending can reduce costs by as much as 25%. But it’s about more than cost reduction. Paying more attention to the quality, and value of products and services that fall under indirect spending can strengthen company operations, improve the quality and reliability of the products and services you deliver to customers, and reduce your risk exposure.

For high-growth companies, the issue can be particularly critical, because they tend to be staffed by people who wear multiple hats and seldom have the benefit of well-developed policies and procedures. As the company expands, the vendor contracts they sign grow bigger, the list of purchases grows longer, and the costs and risks can quickly spiral out of control.

Coupa is here to empower companies around the world with the visibility and control they need to shop smarter and safer.

Coupa's Business Spend Management (BSM) platform provides powerful capabilities for everyone in your company, your power users, and your suppliers to perform all of their business spending activities in one place.

ED-SEN Consulting and Coupa held a webinar with the theme "How to Maximize the Value of Your Spending?" on August 12, 2021.

Hardin Santoso joining ED-SEN Consulting is still a matter of months. However, the desire to learn and take certification and contribute to the company is very big. One of the steps that Hardin took was to take Anaplan certification until he reached Level 3 Model Builder.

Hardin said that the level 3 model builder certification is very useful and very related to what is being done in the Anaplan project that Hardin is currently working on at ED-SEN Consulting. "From working on the Model Builder at Level 3, I get a lot of benefits for the work that is being done," said Hardin.

Hardin said that in this level 3 model builder certification, the things we have learned at level 2 are finalized at level 3. We start from the beginning, such as how to gather requirements with stakeholders, building from user stories to presenting the solution, all of which are closely related to the Anaplan project that I worked on at ED-SEN Consulting.

According to Hardin, Anaplan certification is very structured starting from level 1 then level 2, and finally level 3 Model Builder. "So, at first, I took the level 1 then continued at level 2 and I tried to apply the knowledge I had gained at level 2 into the project I was working on, then I just continued to level 3," said Hardin.

For the duration of time, Hardin said, from level 1 to level 2 he worked on it about 4 weeks later for level 3 it was 2 weeks. At level 3, according to Hardin, the structure is wider and there is a lot of data so it must be done quickly because otherwise, it will be difficult to understand.

From the difficulty level, according to Hardin, level 3 has a higher level of difficulty, then level 1 and level 2. Level 3 according to Hardin should be done rather quickly because there is a lot of data and not only makes the model builder but also makes the Anaplan dashboard. This is what makes level 3 more complex than other levels.
Hardin added that Level 3 Model Builder data is more comprehensive, such as working on a project from 0 to completion. In addition, what makes Level 3 more complex is because here we also make designs for the dashboard, the architecture, to data entry, data hubs.

Hardin also said that working on level 1 of the model builder is also more difficult than level 2 because level 1 is the basis, and we are just learning the platform, so we are still in the introduction stage. Well for level 2 just continue from level 1.

In the future, Hardin has plans to take Solution Architect Certification. For this reason, he is currently preparing to take the certification with experience working on Anaplan projects up to the Go Live stage. Currently, Hardin is part of the project team working on the Anaplan project at a large mining company in Indonesia and an Indonesian start-up company.

“Currently I still need more time to take the Anaplan Solution Architect certification because there are several requirements that I have not fulfilled. For that, I am preparing myself by increasing my experience working on Anaplan projects that I am currently working on,” said Hardin.

Hardin is an alumnus of Telkom University Bandung majoring in Internasional ICT Business, Economy. He is part of the Anaplan project team at ED-SEN Consulting. For Hardin, Anaplan is not something new because on campus he has worked on an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) project. "When I was on campus, I used to work on an EPM project, so when I entered ED-SEN Consulting, it didn't take me long to adjust to working on the Anaplan project," said Hardin.
