Learning Anaplan is a new experience for Ricky Wijaya, one of the project teams who work on the Power BI project at ED-SEN Consulting.

Ricky's initial introduction to Anaplan was obtained through the Anaplan Certification which he recently experienced.

Ricky said at the beginning of this certification he worked on the First Level of Model Builder. He admitted that at first he was still confused with Anaplan because he had never previously known about Anaplan. “I didn't have any basics in Anaplan before so I was a bit confused at first."  Said Ricky.

At the first level,  I can still understand because there are modules so I can learn from the modules at level 1. “Materials at the first level such as general lists are still easy to follow,” said Ricky.

According to Ricky, these modules are very helpful for understanding Anaplan, especially in the material there is also a video that helps us to understand the material at the first level.

Ricky also said that 4 people from the Power BI team took the Anaplan certification up to the next level, (2nd Level) Model Builder. "We started this certification together, but we finished differently,"  Ricky said.

Early start at the first level is taught more about the basics of Anaplan, starting from the introduction of what Anaplan is, then what the modules are like. "It's more of an introduction, if I see it at Level 1, it's like making a list of modules," said Ricky.

As soon as I entered the 2nd Level, I saw that the material was more advanced. The way we do the material is mostly by using formulas. “At Level 1, we learn how to make lists and how to import, but for the 2nd Level, the formula is more"

Furthermore, for Level 2, apart from having more modules than Level 1, these modules are also connected and must use a formula to connect them. "We can get this formula from the clues given," said Ricky.

For the time to complete it, Ricky admitted that Level 2 took longer than Level 1. "About 8 days it took me to complete this Level 2," said Ricky.

Ricky said 3 stages must be done in Level 2. So for level 2, each module has a test. In total, for Level 2, there are 4 exams that we have to do. “So the test is in Sprint 1 to 3 and the last is the conclusive test. In that exam, we all have to pass and then we get the certification for level 2,” said Ricky.

After Level 2 finished, he just continued to the Anaplan Way. For the Anaplan Way, it is not too heavy, only the material and there is a quiz too. Overall, until the Anaplan Way was finished, Ricky admitted that it would take about 3 weeks.

According to Ricky, Anaplan training from a project team member is also very helpful in providing an overview of Anaplan implementation for clients. "From this training, we learn from experiences that we have implemented before," Ricky said.

After getting this Anaplan certification, Ricky admitted that it was like getting a new experience in getting to know more platforms. If all this time he was familiar with Power BI, now Ricky is getting new knowledge, namely Anaplan. "From this certification, I have an overview of Anaplan starting from how to make lists to the modules in Anaplan." Said Ricky, who is an Alumni of the Indonesian Islamic University in Yogyakarta.
